Woojin Plaimm has formed a strategic partnership with a local forestry cooperative and a domestic cross-linked xylose polymer (CXP) developer to drive innovation in sustainable material processing. This collaboration focuses on creating and supplying specialised injection moulding systems optimised for CXP—a bio-based material prone to carbonisation at relatively low melting points.
The partnership connects vital elements of the value chain: the forestry cooperative supplies biomass by-products, the CXP developer leads material R&D, and Woojin Plaimm engineers tailored moulding machinery. At the core is the DL-G5, a two-platen direct pressure injection machine engineered to minimise frictional heat and enable precise low-temperature melt flow. This reduces carbonisation and lowers gas emissions during moulding.
Key features of the DL-G5 include:
Servo pump system for high energy efficiency, Fast dry cycle and half-nut synchronous locking for increased precision, Modular multilingual controller, Integrated inverter cabinet, Ball-bearing linear guides, High-rigidity dual-axis rods, Closed-loop backpressure control
Looking ahead, Woojin Plaimm is preparing to expand its CXP moulding technologies globally. Its India-based branches in Chennai and Anantapur will serve as primary hubs for regional support and inquiries.
