Palakkad Smart City Gets $300.2 Crore Central Boost

The Central government has approved ₹300.2 crore as the third installment for the Palakkad Industrial Smart City Project, part of the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.

The funds have been allocated to the Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (KICDC), with the state government contributing an additional 316 acres of land. This brings the total central funding to ₹613.7 crore, alongside Kerala’s land contribution of 646 acres. The KICDC, a joint venture between Kerala’s KINFRA and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), is responsible for project implementation.

A recent review meeting in Kochi, attended by key officials from KICDC, NICDIT, and project contractors, focused on accelerating infrastructure development for the smart city.
