YEIDA's Bold Vision: From Smart Villages to New Urban Hubs

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved several key initiatives during its recent board meeting, aimed at driving inclusive development and infrastructure growth across its jurisdiction.

In line with its policy of allocating 7% of acquired land for farmers' residential needs, YEIDA has issued 6,260 allotment letters across 29 villages, with land development already completed in eight of them. For land acquired between 2007 and 2013, the Authority has disbursed ₹2,835 crore under the No Litigation Incentive Scheme, offering an enhanced compensation of 64.7% to farmers opting for early settlement.

As part of the Master Plan 2041, YEIDA is transforming 29 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr into smart villages, equipped with modern infrastructure including internal roads, drainage and sewer systems, water supply, street lighting, parks, solid waste management, and community facilities. Projects worth ₹60 crore have been completed, ₹78 crore are currently underway, and an additional ₹125 crore has been earmarked for completion by December 2026.

The board also gave the green light for the development of new urban centres in Hathras and Agra, covering 2,000 to 4,000 hectares across 66 villages in Hathras. These hubs will be designed to support industrial, residential, logistics, and MSME development, boosting regional economic activity.

In a move to enhance building safety, YEIDA will also introduce a structural audit policy for multistorey buildings, aligned with the Building Regulation 2010, ensuring greater compliance and safety in urban development.
