Vanya Steels, a subsidiary of A-One Steel Group, has announced an investment of ₹100 crore to establish a 10 MW waste-to-energy (WtE) power plant at its Koppal facility in Karnataka. The plant, powered by advanced Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) technology, is slated for commissioning by 31 July 2025.
The project will convert residual industrial waste heat generated during the steelmaking process into clean electricity, significantly reducing dependence on grid power and lowering operational costs.
“This initiative represents a major milestone in sustainable manufacturing for the region,” said Krishan Kumar Jallan, Founder & Chairman of A-One Steel Group. “By harnessing WHRB technology, we are turning industrial waste into a valuable energy resource.”
Designed as a captive power facility, the plant will not only enhance energy efficiency but also reduce carbon emissions, aligning with India’s Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and green energy goals. It also reinforces the Group’s commitment to environmentally responsible industrial practices.
