The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to establish a dedicated Japanese medical device manufacturing cluster near the Noida International Airport.
This initiative follows a recent high-level visit by representatives from Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ), indicating strong interest in transforming the region into a hub for advanced medical technologies. YEIDA and MEJ are in the final stages of preparing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is expected to be signed during the upcoming visit of senior MEJ leadership next month.
The MoU will support the development of the upcoming Medical Devices Park in Sector 29 by facilitating the entry of leading Japanese companies to establish manufacturing and R&D units. At least seven firms are expected to commence operations in the initial phase. The collaboration will foster technology transfer, joint ventures, and boost exports to Japan’s healthcare market.
YEIDA CEO R.K. Singh highlighted that the project aligns with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and reinforces India’s growing role as a global hub for medical device manufacturing.
