JTRF Secures Land in Odisha for Rs 2,500 Crore Rail Wheel & Axle Plant

Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory (JTRF), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons, has successfully acquired land in Haldiapada, Khordha, Odisha, for the construction of a state-of-the-art railwheel and axle forging plant. This major development is a key part of the company's growth strategy and represents a significant step in Odisha’s entry into the private sector of heavy railway engineering.

JTRF will be the first facility of its kind in the state, cementing Odisha’s position as a hub for advanced industrial manufacturing. The project involves a phased investment of Rs 2,500 crore over the next several years, with the plant set to produce 1,00,000 forged wheelsets annually.

This initiative aims to meet both domestic demand and strengthen India’s presence in the global railway components market. The facility will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies to support the needs of high-speed, high-load railway systems, improving the performance and efficiency of rolling stock.
