Chenab Valley Power Projects has announced a new tender for the electro-mechanical (E&M) works Package (Lot-III) of the 540 MW Kwar HP project in the picturesque Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). The project, valued at Rs 946.48 crore, aims to enhance the region's hydroelectric power capacity significantly.
The scope of work encompasses the entire gamut of E&M services including design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of turbines, generators, and associated accessories. Additionally, the contract will cover auxiliary electrical and mechanical equipment, along with the installation of a 400 kV outdoor pothead yard equipment. The project is slated for completion within 40 months from the commencement of the contract.
Interested bidders have until 15 July, 2024, to submit their proposals. The project holds strategic importance, not only for its substantial power generation capacity but also for its potential to bolster local infrastructure and create employment opportunities in the region.
Once completed, the Kwar HP project is expected to contribute significantly to Jammu & Kashmir's electricity grid, supporting industrial growth and meeting the rising energy demands of the region. The announcement underscores Chenab Valley Power Projects' commitment to expanding renewable energy sources and promoting sustainable development in the region.
