₹2,000 Crore Boost: Trident Group Expands Big in Punjab

Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, Chairman and Promoter of Trident Group, has unveiled a ₹2,000-crore expansion plan aimed at boosting industrial growth, generating employment, and promoting sustainable development in Punjab.

The announcement, made during a press briefing led by Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora, outlines a ₹1,500-crore investment in Barnala to expand Terry Towel production and upgrade paper manufacturing facilities. An additional ₹500 crore will be invested in Mohali to establish a state-of-the-art corporate office and a capacity-building centre. The expansion is expected to create around 2,000 jobs, with a strong focus on employing semi-skilled rural women to advance women’s empowerment.

Reaffirming the company’s vision, the statement noted that this initiative will strengthen Trident’s presence across multiple sectors. Headquartered in Ludhiana, Trident is a globally recognised, vertically integrated manufacturer of textiles and wheat-straw-based paper.
