VRKP Sponge & Power Plant LLP is undertaking a substantial expansion of its Sponge Iron Project in Halkundi, Ballari, Karnataka. With an investment of ₹570 crores, the expansion project includes the installation of a waste heat recovery-based plant with a capacity of 24 MW.
The expanded facility will significantly increase the production capacity of sponge iron, with an output of 350,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). This expansion reflects the company's commitment to meeting the growing demand for sponge iron and enhancing its market competitiveness.
The waste heat recovery-based plant will utilize heat generated during the sponge iron production process to generate electricity, maximizing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact. This sustainable approach underscores the company's commitment to green and responsible manufacturing practices.
