Bhansali's ABS Boost Powers Indian Plastic Industry

Bhansali Engineering Polymers Ltd. (BEPL) is set to significantly amplify its Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) production capacity through a strategic expansion initiative in collaboration with Toyo Engineering India Pvt Ltd. (TEI). The company has awarded Toyo Engineering India the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and CAPEX cost estimation for a Brownfield ABS expansion project at its existing facilities in Abu Road, Rajasthan, and Satnoor, Madhya Pradesh. This expansion aims to boost ABS production by an impressive 93%, increasing capacity from 75,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) to 145,000 TPA.

The project's dual-site expansion leverages existing infrastructure and resources at both the Abu Road and Satnoor plants. With a focus on meeting the growing demand in diverse industries such as automotive, appliances, and electronics, BEPL aims to strengthen its position as a leading ABS supplier in India. The increased production capacity is anticipated to positively impact the local economy by creating job opportunities during both the construction and operation phases.

As the project awaits necessary approvals, the detailed roadmap provided by TEI's FEED and CAPEX cost estimation will guide the implementation process. Construction is poised to commence shortly after receiving the required approvals, with the targeted completion date yet to be finalized.

BEPL's Brownfield ABS expansion project represents a significant stride for the company and the Indian ABS market. By enhancing production capacity, fortifying market standing, and fostering job creation, this initiative holds the potential to make substantial contributions to the growth of the petrochemical sector and the broader Indian economy. To stay updated on the project's progress, monitoring BEPL's website and news announcements is recommended, along with staying informed about developments in the Indian ABS market and BEPL's overall performance.
