Chilled Ambition! Chemplast Sanmar Invests 410 Crore in Tamil Nadu Refrigerant Gas Project

Chemplast Sanmar Limited embarked on an ambitious endeavor with their Refrigerant Gas Project located in Mettur, Salem, Tamil Nadu. With a substantial investment of 410 Crores, this project aimed to bolster production capacity and meet the escalating demand for refrigerant gases in domestic and international markets.

Central to the project was the establishment of a cutting-edge facility capable of producing 12,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of difluoromethane (R32). This significant capacity expansion was driven by market dynamics and aligned with Chemplast Sanmar's strategic vision for growth and innovation in the chemical industry.

In addition to difluoromethane production, the project included the manufacturing of 10,000 TPA of Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid (AHF). This diversification strategy aimed to capitalize on synergies within the chemical value chain and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Situated in the industrial hub of Mettur, the project capitalized on strategic location advantages and access to key resources. This positioning not only facilitated efficient distribution but also strengthened Chemplast Sanmar's competitive position in the global marketplace.
