Ambuja Cements Limited has successfully commissioned a 2.4 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) brownfield expansion of its Grinding Unit in Farakka, West Bengal. This milestone, along with the addition of 0.5 MTPA through debottlenecking initiatives across existing facilities, has elevated Ambuja’s total cement production capacity to 100 MTPA.
The Farakka expansion is a key component of Ambuja’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing footprint and meet rising demand in eastern India and beyond. The project involved upgrading existing infrastructure with advanced grinding technology to boost efficiency and output.
In parallel, capacity enhancements through debottlenecking have further optimized operations across various plants. These efforts reflect Ambuja Cements’ ongoing commitment to operational excellence and its reinforced position as a major player in the Indian cement industry.
