Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) has inaugurated its first vertical storage warehouse in Bhiwandi, Thane district, Maharashtra, marking a significant milestone under its Project Parivartan initiative. Spanning 2.84 lakh sq. ft., this facility sets a new benchmark in logistics and warehousing with a strong focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
The warehouse features over 3,200 pallet positions and a high-density G+6 vertical racking system, maximizing storage while minimizing land usage. It is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including AI/ML-based warehouse monitoring, advanced material handling systems, infrared fire detection, temperature and gas sensors, and a centralized Warehouse Control Centre. To enhance workplace safety, GCPL has also introduced a VR-based safety training platform for immersive, on-site personnel training.
This expansion aligns with GCPL’s vision of building a future-ready, agile distribution network. The vertical warehouse boosts supply chain capabilities, enabling faster deliveries and improved operational efficiency. It follows GCPL’s earlier milestone—the launch of its first integrated greenfield manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu in March 2025, which produces major brands like Cinthol, Godrej No.1, Goodknight, and Godrej aer.
Supporting GCPL’s Good & Green goals, the Bhiwandi warehouse is designed to reduce transit times, optimize resources, and lower environmental impact. With this initiative, GCPL continues to lead in sustainable, tech-driven supply chain innovation.
