Greenply Industries has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Semiliguda, Odisha, marking a strategic expansion aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
The launch event was graced by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and senior government officials, highlighting strong state support in terms of land allocation and regulatory clearances. Developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, Greenply Sandila, the facility will produce plywood and medium-density fibreboard (MDF) using plantation-grown timber, promoting sustainable agroforestry practices.
The unit is expected to generate over 1,200 direct jobs, significantly contributing to regional economic development. Strategically located with robust road and rail connectivity, the plant enhances Greenply’s advanced manufacturing footprint and strengthens its presence in eastern India.
Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Mittal underscored the facility’s importance in fostering local employment, industrial growth, and environmental responsibility, reinforcing Greenply’s commitment to eco-conscious manufacturing and sustainable development.
