Gruner to Build Asia's Largest Biogas Plant in Gujarat for Rs 220 Crore

New Delhi, Monday: Gruner Renewable Energy announced plans today to construct a compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Gujarat's Navsari district, marking a significant step towards bolstering India's renewable energy infrastructure. The plant, anticipated to become Asia's largest of its kind, will be established at an estimated cost of Rs 220 crore.

Expected to commence operations soon, the CBG facility aims to produce 44 tonnes of biogas daily, utilizing a mix of cost-effective feedstocks including paddy, pressmud, canetrash, and municipal solid waste (MSW). This production volume translates to over 16,000 tonnes of biogas annually, contributing substantially to the nation's renewable energy targets.

In collaboration with a prominent business conglomerate, Gruner Renewable Energy expressed confidence in the project's potential to advance sustainable energy solutions in India. Founder and CEO Utkarsh Gupta highlighted the plant's role in reducing dependency on fossil fuels, aligning with national objectives aimed at fostering environmental sustainability.

The initiative underscores India's ongoing efforts to promote cleaner energy alternatives amidst global concerns over climate change. With the Navsari plant poised to play a pivotal role in these efforts, stakeholders anticipate significant contributions towards meeting the country's energy demands through eco-friendly means.

Gruner Renewable Energy's ambitious venture reflects a growing trend in the renewable energy sector, where investments in innovative technologies and sustainable practices are crucial for achieving long-term energy security and environmental conservation goals.
