Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) has shared a progress update on its key expansion initiatives, highlighting steady execution amid global logistical challenges.
The company’s 100,000 tonnes per annum greenfield ferrochrome project at Kalinganagar is nearing completion. The facility, which includes two 33 MVA furnaces, has entered the final development phase with commissioning timelines approaching. Pre-commissioning for the first furnace is scheduled for June 2026, followed by the second furnace in September 2026.
IMFA also confirmed the successful completion of its strategic acquisition in Kalinganagar, with all four acquired furnaces now fully operational, enhancing its production capacity in the region.
On the ethanol segment, the company reported a slight delay in commissioning its Therubali-based project due to delays in equipment deliveries and broader geopolitical disruptions. Erection work is currently in progress, with commissioning now expected in July 2026. The company indicated that the delay is not expected to materially impact its overall financial performance.
The update underscores IMFA’s continued focus on capacity expansion and business diversification while managing external headwinds.
