Kashi Vishwanath Steels Private Limited (KVS) is coming up with an expansion of its existing steel plant at Narain Nagar Industrial Estate, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. The expansion will involve the installation of new induction furnaces, a continuous casting machine, and a rolling mill. The expansion will increase the plant's production capacity of MS Ingot and MS Billet to 1,46,600 TPA and Rolled Products to 1,11,800 TPA. Total project cost is 10 Crores.
MS Ingot, MS Billet, and Rolled Products Manufacturing are the processes involved in the production of steel. MS Ingot is the initial stage of steel production, where molten steel is poured into molds to solidify into ingots. MS Billet is a semi-finished product produced by rolling or casting ingots into smaller, rectangular bars. Rolled Products are the final stage of steel production, where billets are further rolled into various shapes and sizes, such as rods, bars, beams, and sheets.
As on November 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
