Dalmia Bharat has announced a strategic investment of ₹3,520 crore through its subsidiaries to expand cement production in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The company plans to set up a 3.6 million TPA clinker unit and a 3 MTPA grinding unit at its Belgaum plant in Karnataka, along with a 3 MTPA greenfield split grinding unit in Pune, Maharashtra.
The expansion will be funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals. With this initiative, Dalmia Bharat’s total installed cement capacity will reach 55.5 MTPA, factoring in the ongoing 2.9 million tonne expansion in Assam and Bihar. The new units are expected to be operational by Q4 FY27. The Belgaum unit will strengthen the company’s presence in Southern Maharashtra, while the Pune unit will tap into the Western Maharashtra market.
Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO, stated, “This investment marks a significant milestone in our Phase II expansion strategy, reinforcing our position as a pan-India player and bringing us closer to our interim goal of achieving 75 MnT capacity by FY28.”
