NexGen Green Initiative: 5,000 CBG Pumps Raising ₹15,000 Crore

NexGen Energia, a Noida-based green energy solutions company, is set to invest ₹15,000 crore in opening 5,000 green diesel and compressed biogas (CBG) pumps across India over the next decade. Each pump will cost approximately ₹3 crore and will be established in multiple phases. The company's first CBG pump recently inaugurated in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, signifies its entry into EPC services in the clean energy sector.

This initiative is expected to create about 5,000 new entrepreneurs and generate direct and indirect employment for over 10 lakh people. NexGen Energia is committed to building infrastructure that promotes a sustainable future for transportation in India, with this expansion poised to drive substantial economic growth.

In April, NexGen Energia's e-mobility division, NGE, launched an affordable fleet of two-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) priced from ₹36,999. The company plans to establish over 500 dealerships and distributors, aiming to create around 50,000 jobs in the EV sector. Future plans include introducing electric trucks and buses, furthering their commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

Other major developments in the sector include IOCL's JV with GPS Renewables, Gruner Renewable's CBG plants order from Reliance, Godavari Biorefineries' new bio-chemical plant, and ONGC's JV with EverEnviro to build 10 CBG plants. REnergy Dynamics is also eyeing ₹5,000 crore worth of renewable projects.
