Poddar Plumbing, a leading manufacturer of CPVC and PVC pipes, has increased its investment in Karnataka from ₹492 crore to ₹758 crore, with plans to establish a large-scale production facility in Phase 2 of the Vemgal Industrial Area, Kolar district.
The new unit, spread across 33 acres, is expected to commence production by August 2026. It is projected to create 3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect jobs, significantly boosting regional employment. Additionally, the company has proposed a second manufacturing unit in Vijayapura, which is currently in the planning phase.
The announcement was made following a meeting between Poddar Plumbing’s Managing Director Deepak Poddar, Director Varun Poddar, and Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, MB Patil, held at Khanija Bhavan on 29 July 2025.
The company has already acquired 28 acres in Vemgal, with the remaining 5 acres to be handed over shortly. Of the total investment:
₹93 crore is allocated for land acquisition,, ₹578 crore for building and machinery, and, ₹87 crore for capital expenditure taxes., The Poddar family was previously associated with the Aashirvad Pipes brand.
