Azad Engineering, a leading precision engineering company, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art lean manufacturing facility at its Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Tunikibollaram, Hyderabad. This 7,600 sq. mt. facility is a key milestone in Azad’s manufacturing evolution and is dedicated to supporting capacity commitments for GE Vernova’s Steam Power Services business.
The facility was officially inaugurated by GE Vernova leaders Rodolfo Torres (Lean Leader), Ankur Chandak (Sourcing Leader), and Azad Engineering’s Chairman & CEO, Rakesh Chopdar. Azad has met stringent quality and audit standards, mastering complex manufacturing processes to deliver components with micron-level precision for the global power generation sector.
Significant investments were made in advanced machinery and workforce development, enabling Azad to overcome complex engineering challenges and achieve vertical integration. This has strengthened customer trust and solidified Azad’s position as a reliable partner to global OEMs across aerospace, defence, energy, and oil & gas sectors.
Currently employing over 180 skilled professionals, the facility is built on lean manufacturing principles to boost productivity and operational efficiency. With plans to expand the workforce further, the facility—whose construction began in April 2024—marks a transformative step in Azad Engineering’s commitment to innovation, quality, and global collaboration.
