Rockwool's ₹550 Crore Bet on Green Infrastructure in India

Denmark-based Rockwool Group is progressing steadily on its ₹550 crore manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, which is set to become operational by Q2 2026.

Larger than Rockwool’s existing plant in Gujarat, the Cheyyar facility is poised to become a key production hub for stone wool insulation solutions in India. With construction already 50% complete, the plant will generate over 150 direct jobs and numerous indirect employment opportunities, delivering significant socio-economic benefits to local communities.

The plant will manufacture a range of energy-efficient insulation products for building envelopes, industrial applications, and sandwich panel cores, supporting India's push for sustainable infrastructure.

Rockwool officials emphasized that the Cheyyar plant is a strategic investment to expand the company’s footprint in India, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and energy-efficient building materials in the region.
