NABARD Boosts Haryana Rural Infrastructure with ₹15,056 Cr Funding

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned nearly ₹15,056 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for 6,175 projects across Haryana, aimed at strengthening irrigation systems, rural roads, drinking water supply and other key infrastructure.

The announcement was made during NABARD’s 45th Foundation Day celebrations in Chandigarh, where Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi highlighted the institution’s role in supporting the state’s rural development and agricultural growth. He said the state is also working to digitise all Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and improve their financial sustainability to strengthen the cooperative sector.

NABARD also highlighted its progress in Haryana, including the digitisation of 710 PACS, promotion of 131 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) covering over 63,000 farmers, and financial assistance to strengthen FPOs. The institution has also backed climate-resilient agriculture initiatives and skill development programmes for rural women, while recognising outstanding contributors to rural development during the event.
