Transforming MAMC: Delhi PWD Plans a 30-Year Healthcare Makeover

Delhi PWD is set to appoint a consultancy to prepare a 30-year master redevelopment plan for the 3.64-lakh sq. mtr. Maulana Azad Medical College campus, aimed at modernising ageing infrastructure and upgrading healthcare facilities.

The redevelopment roadmap envisages around one lakh sq. mtrs. of new construction on vacant or cleared land, while structural audits will be carried out for about 75,000 sq. mtrs. of existing buildings. The plan will also cover associated hospital complexes, including GB Pant Hospital, with provisions for upgraded medical facilities, a convention centre, research hubs and staff hostels.

The master plan will also focus on improving campus connectivity through upgraded access points and dedicated emergency corridors, along with a Green Campus framework featuring solar power, waste management systems and electric vehicles.
