Green-Lit: NHAI Invites Bids for First TOT Bundles of FY26–27

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched its asset monetisation programme for FY2026–27 by inviting bids for two operational highway stretches in Tamil Nadu under the toll-operate-transfer (TOT) model. Together, the two stretches cover approximately 170 km and mark the first set of assets offered in the current financial year.

The initiative is part of NHAI’s broader strategy to unlock value from operational highway assets and mobilise capital for future infrastructure development. As part of this programme, NHAI has identified 17 highway stretches spanning about 1,692.5 km across nine states, including Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra, for monetisation through TOT and Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) routes. These corridors have been selected based on their strong traffic volumes, economic significance, and connectivity potential.

The monetisation drive aligns with the government’s asset recycling framework, aimed at raising resources from mature infrastructure assets and reinvesting them into new highway construction, network expansion, and overall development of India’s transport infrastructure.
