Speeding Up Progress: The Push for Ludhiana's New Highways

Sanjeev Arora has instructed officials to expedite progress on key infrastructure projects being undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Ludhiana, issuing firm directions during a recent high-level review meeting.

He stressed the importance of fast-tracking critical highway works and addressing bottlenecks impacting execution timelines. Arora directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Raikot)-cum-Competent Authority for Land Acquisition to immediately transfer possession of acquired land for the Ludhiana–Bathinda–Raikot highway to the NHAI.

The minister also called for the swift disbursal of pending compensation to affected landowners, noting that delays in payments were hindering project progress.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), SDM Raikot, the District Revenue Officer, and the NHAI Project Director, along with other senior officials. Discussions focused on resolving administrative issues and ensuring timely completion of ongoing highway projects in the region.
