The Water Resources Department (WRD) of Maharashtra has invited bids for converting the existing open canal system into a piped distribution network under the Janai Shirsai Lift Irrigation Scheme.
The project scope includes replacing the open canal with an efficient pipe-based system to enhance irrigation water delivery, minimize losses, and improve agricultural output. It also covers operation, maintenance, and repair responsibilities for a five-year period to ensure long-term system performance and sustainability.
The contract carries an estimated value of ₹359.28 crore, with the bid submission deadline set for 10 December 2025.
