The Margao Municipal Council (MMC), Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), and GD Environmental have signed a tripartite agreement to set up a state-of-the-art waste treatment facility in Margao.
The project will feature a 10-tonne-per-day gasification-based plant at Sonsoddo, replacing the conventional landfill system. Scheduled for completion by 2025–26, the facility will be managed by GEDA on behalf of MMC, while GD Environmental will handle its fabrication and installation.
GEDA Managing Director Gauresh Pilgaonkar and MMC Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar, present at the signing, highlighted the project’s importance in enhancing waste management and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable future for Margao.
