In response to displacement caused by the Polavaram Project, the Eluru district administration, in coordination with the Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) and Polavaram Project Authorities, has intensified Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) efforts across the Godavari districts.
Eluru Collector K. Vetri Selvi announced that 2,799 acres of land have been identified for resettlement, against a total requirement of 7,812 acres, with 1,734 acres currently under acquisition. In the ASR district, resettlement work in Chinturu, Kunavaram, and VR Puram mandals is nearing completion.
Additionally, ₹71.06 crore will be disbursed to 781 displaced families, while ₹828 crore has been allocated for land acquisition and construction of 10,701 houses. To ensure timely progress, special teams have been deployed to address grievances and expedite the R&R process.
