Maharashtra's Mineral Goldmine: MDO Bids Open for Vadakhol-Asoli

Assam Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (AMDCL) has invited bids for the appointment of a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) for its Vadakhol-Asoli Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), and Cobalt (Co) block, along with associated mineral blocks in Maharashtra.

As part of its strategic plan, AMDCL will pursue a composite license, conduct prospecting activities, prepare a detailed geological report, and obtain all statutory clearances and required land. The selected MDO will be responsible for end-to-end mining operations—including drilling, excavation, transportation, mineral supply, and sale—on a revenue-sharing basis with AMDCL.

The MDO’s scope of work also includes securing physical possession of land, managing rehabilitation and resettlement, and obtaining all necessary environmental, forest, and statutory clearances, as well as relevant permits and licenses.

AMDCL was declared the preferred bidder for the block during Tranche IV of the Central Government’s mineral block e-auction process. The deadline for bid submission is 12 August 2025.
