Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has partnered with Adani Cement to advance sustainable logistics in India.
On 24 October 2025, the two organisations signed two MoUs, with senior officials from both sides present, to focus on transporting bulk cement via specialised rail tank containers. CONCOR will deploy dedicated container rakes across key rail corridors, leveraging the Indian Railways network to reduce road dependence, enhance operational efficiency, and promote environmental sustainability.
The collaboration aims to cut carbon emissions, streamline logistics, and generate cost savings, supporting India’s net-zero targets and the National Logistics Policy, while paving the way for similar green logistics solutions in other industries.
"This partnership exemplifies our commitment to innovative, eco-friendly logistics solutions. By harnessing rail’s potential for bulk cement transport, we are optimizing costs and efficiency while contributing to a greener future for India’s freight ecosystem," said Sanjay Swarup, CMD, CONCOR.
