On October 29, 2025, the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and manage common rail handling operations at the upcoming Vadhvan Port.
The MoU, formalized during India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai, designates CONCOR as the Common Rail Handling Operator, responsible for providing consultancy and operational support in areas such as rail coordination, infrastructure planning, and container handling.
Valued at an estimated ₹500 crore, the project will be implemented in phases, with operations expected to commence by 2030. This collaboration is set to enhance multimodal connectivity, streamline logistics, and advance India’s port-led economic growth, representing a key milestone in the development of Vadhvan Port’s infrastructure.
