South Eastern Railway has floated a tender for the regirdering of key railway bridges to enable the operation of 25-tonne axle load freight trains at speeds of up to 100 kmph. The project aims to boost freight capacity and enhance infrastructure reliability across critical sections of the network.
The scope includes work on the following major bridge locations:
Bridge No. 25 DN (between ADTP and TATA stations): 10 spans of 24.4 meters each
Bridge No. 206 UP (between Mahadeosal and Posoita stations): 3 spans of 45.7 meters
Bridge No. 206 DN: 2 spans of 12.2 meters, 4 spans of 18.3 meters, and 1 span of 45.7 meters
Bridge No. 47 UP: 2 spans of 12.2 meters and 2 spans of 30.5 meters
The total estimated cost of the project is ₹152.23 crore, with a completion timeline of 24 months.
Interested bidders must submit their proposals by 24 November 2025.
