The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 110-km elevated corridor in Bengaluru has been approved by the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s Technical Advisory Committee, with an estimated cost of ₹18,000 crore, including ₹3,000 crore for land acquisition.
The DPR is set to be submitted to the state government by September 25 for final approval. Pending clearance, construction is expected to begin by December and be completed within 25 months. BS Prahallad, Director (Technical) at Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure (B-SMILE), confirmed the project has already received in-principle approval.
To be developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the tolled elevated corridor will use ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete and precast components to ensure quality and durability. The DPR was prepared following a year-long traffic study to incorporate optimal design solutions for easing congestion across the city.
