The final stretch of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway in Maharashtra is nearing completion, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) preparing to open the Talasari–Raite section by April 2026.
However, the full operation of the 156-km Talasari–Morbe segment remains pending due to the absence of a direct link to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). To resolve this, NHAI is planning a 15-km connector road from Morbe to the Kalamboli junction, which will seamlessly link the expressway to the port.
The Rs 9,000-crore project will commence once design approvals are finalised. According to NHAI Regional Manager Anshumali Srivastava, the new connector is expected to cut travel time to JNPA to just 20–25 minutes. For now, only the Talasari–Raite section will become operational, leaving a substantial detour for vehicles heading toward JNPA.
