Sabarmati’s New Shield: ₹231.51 Cr Barrage Works Announced

The Narmada and Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department has invited bids for the construction of a barrage and associated river protection works across the Sabarmati River at Falu village in Vijapur taluka of Mehsana district, Gujarat.

The project, estimated to cost ₹231.51 crore, is scheduled for completion within a period of 18 months. The scope of work includes the construction of the barrage, riverbank protection measures, and other allied infrastructure aimed at safeguarding water resources and ensuring a sustainable water supply. These works are intended to strengthen overall water management in the region.

The last date for submission of bids is March 6, 2026.
