Airbound & APDC: Scaling India’s Drone Deliveries to New Heights

Bengaluru-based aerospace innovator Airbound has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation (APDC) to establish a scalable aerial logistics network across the Amaravati capital region. Formalized in New Delhi in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, the Amaravati Capital Region Drone Delivery Network (ACR-DDN) aims to revolutionize last-mile logistics by connecting Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Guntur.

Airbound will collaborate with healthcare, e-commerce, and logistics sectors, kicking off operations in Guntur with a goal to scale up to 10,000 daily flights across the state within a year. The project features Airbound’s proprietary blended-wing-body tailsitter drone—a lightweight carbon-fiber aircraft weighing just 1.50 kg that boasts an industry-leading 1.5:1 payload-to-weight ratio. This indigenous initiative highlights India's growing capability to build cutting-edge, commercial-grade aerial infrastructure.
