Amaravati Takes Off: ₹4,285 Crore Funding Kickstarts Construction

The Central Government has allocated ₹4,285 crore for the development of Amaravati, the proposed Greenfield capital of Andhra Pradesh. This funding includes ₹3,535 crore as an advance from loans approved by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, along with ₹750 crore as the Centre’s contribution, as per official reports.

The disbursement follows a request from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), with construction activities expected to commence soon.

P. Narayana, the State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, revealed that the total estimated cost of the Amaravati project is ₹54,721 crore, with the goal to complete the project by 2028.
