Amazon’s ₹125 Crore Bet on Mumbai’s Digital Future

Amazon Data Services India has acquired a 10.61-acre land parcel in Ambernath, near Mumbai, from Lodha Developers for ₹125.13 crore, according to property registration documents.

The acquired land spans approximately 42,955 sq. m. across Asode and Burdul villages in Ambernath taluka, Thane district, and was registered through a Deed of Conveyance on 26 May 2026. The transaction forms part of Amazon’s ongoing infrastructure expansion strategy in the Mumbai metropolitan region. It follows the company’s earlier acquisition of 38.18 acres from the same developer group in November 2024 for ₹450 crore. The newly acquired parcel is located adjacent to Amazon’s existing land holdings near Lodha’s Palava City development.

The continued expansion of Amazon’s land bank in the region underscores its long-term commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and supporting the growing demand for cloud computing and data centre services in India. The strategic location, close to Mumbai’s industrial and technology corridors, further reinforces the region’s position as a key destination for hyperscale data centre and digital services investments.
