Andhra Pradesh Unlocks Growth with 11 Key Urban Projects

The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department of Andhra Pradesh has approved 11 key urban infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing livability, connectivity, and sustainable growth across cities in the state.

Finalised during a review meeting led by MA&UD Principal Secretary S. Key approvals include:

Waste-to-energy facilities in Kurnool, Kadapa, Nellore, and Kakinada–Rajahmundry, A modern bus terminal in Chittoor

Land monetisation at Rushikonda and a ropeway to Kailasagiri in Visakhapatnam

The state also plans major road development works in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada under HAM, aimed at improving urban mobility, road safety, and traffic management.

Additionally, tourism-focused urban development will be driven by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), positioning the city as a vibrant cultural and infrastructure hub.

Suresh Kumar emphasized that these projects will bridge critical infrastructure gaps, attract private investment, and elevate the quality of urban life—while promoting balanced risk-sharing and performance-driven public service delivery.
