Arkel India has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at the GIDC Estate with a Phase I investment of ₹1 billion.
The facility aims to reduce import dependence by manufacturing lift electronic systems locally, including advanced lift control electronics that comply with the IS 17900 standard. The technology-focused plant will feature automated printed circuit board (PCB) assembly lines and semi-automatic MR control panel production lines, enabling the manufacture of control systems for various lift types such as MR, MRL, and slim panels.
The products will incorporate IoT-enabled technologies to enable enhanced monitoring and precision control, catering to high-rise residential and commercial buildings, hospitals, and transit hubs. The facility is also expected to support India’s infrastructure and real estate development, supplying systems for urban redevelopment initiatives and smart city projects.
In addition, the plant is expected to generate employment opportunities and collaborate with educational institutions to provide training in electronics and automation. The expansion follows the acquisition of Arkel by Innovalift AB of Sweden, and is expected to strengthen the company’s export capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
