Atlassian has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Research & Development (R&D) Centre in Bengaluru, spanning over 2 lakh sq. ft., underscoring its continued commitment to India as a strategic innovation powerhouse.
With over 2,500 employees, India now serves as Atlassian’s largest workforce base outside Australia and the United States. Remarkably, around 75% of the Indian team is dedicated to R&D, driving key product areas including enterprise search, commerce, data residency, and customer success.
The new facility features flexible workstations, collaborative zones, wellness areas, and advanced hybrid work technologies, tailored to support the company’s distributed workforce model and foster innovation.
Rajeev Rajan, Chief Technology Officer at Atlassian, commented:
"India continues to be one of our most important R&D hubs, and Bengaluru sits at the heart of this growth. This new world-class R&D Centre is more than just a larger space—it’s a symbol of our investment in the future of work, in distributed teamwork, and, most importantly, in the exceptional talent we have here in India.”
This expansion further cements Atlassian’s long-term vision to leverage India’s tech ecosystem and talent pool to drive global product innovation.
