Bihar Cabinet Approves 47 Major Development Proposals

The Bihar Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has approved 47 major proposals aimed at advancing urban development, education, social welfare, infrastructure, and administrative reforms.

In a significant move under urban development, the Cabinet approved the upgrade of Phulwari and Danapur Nagar Parishads to Municipal Corporations, enhancing local governance. Additionally, over ₹1,800 crore has been allocated to improve urban water supply infrastructure—₹138 crore for Ara, ₹1,130 crore for Siwan, ₹76 crore for Sasaram, and ₹497 crore for Aurangabad.

In the fields of education and social welfare, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the Buxar-Rohtas Residential School and sanctioned 935 new positions for Assistant Education Development Officers. It also created 190 new posts in the Social Welfare Department to strengthen service delivery.

Administrative reforms included amendments to the Bihar Polytechnic and Engineering Education Service Rules, 2025. Furthermore, a new housing project for senior police officers in Patna was approved to improve residential facilities for law enforcement leadership.
