BKC Gets Bigger: NSE Secures 757 Crore Plot for Expansion

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has allocated a premium commercial plot in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) for a value of Rs 757.70 crore.

The land, identified as Plot C-82 in G Block, covers an area of 5,500 sq. meters, with a permissible built-up area of 22,000 sq. meters and an FSI of 4.00. The lease for the plot has been granted for a period of 80 years, with NSE planning to develop a new administrative building at the site.

This new plot will cater to NSE’s expanding operational needs and provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the evolving landscape of India’s financial markets. The development further solidifies BKC’s status as the heart of Mumbai’s financial district.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the significance of the development, stating: “This move reflects Maharashtra's dedication to driving financial growth and infrastructure development. By facilitating the NSE’s expansion within BKC, we are strengthening Mumbai’s role as India’s financial capital and ensuring an optimal business environment for leading institutions.”
