On 4th September 2025, the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (BPIPL) in New Delhi for the operation and maintenance of the upcoming container terminal on the north side of Bhavnagar Port, Gujarat.
This collaboration builds on BPIPL’s earlier agreement with the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in September 2024, which granted a 30-year lease for 235 hectares of land, with provisions for an additional 250 hectares for future expansion.
Strategically located, the terminal is designed to serve the growing logistics demands of Central Gujarat, the Dholera Industrial Belt, and extend connectivity to the National Capital Region (NCR).
Under the agreement, CONCOR will act as the designated container terminal operator, responsible for the operation, management, and marketing of the facility. This marks a key step in CONCOR’s strategy of forward integration into port operations, enhancing its presence across the logistics value chain.
With a strong nationwide terminal network and a sizable rolling stock fleet, CONCOR aims to provide efficient, reliable, and cost-effective logistics solutions. CMD Sanjay Swarup stated that the partnership will enhance value for customers and further consolidate CONCOR’s leadership in India’s logistics sector.
