CtrlS Datacenters has inaugurated its first greenfield data centre in Kolkata’s Bengal Silicon Valley, establishing eastern India’s first Rated-4 datacentre. This launch is part of a ₹2,200 crore investment aimed at strengthening the region’s digital infrastructure.
The facility, launched with 16 MW IT load capacity, is set to scale up to 60+ MW across four phases, catering to enterprises, government agencies, and hyperscalers.
Founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy noted that eastern India is primed for a “digital leap,” supported by progressive policies and increasing demand for cloud and digital services.
With 15 datacentres across eight Indian cities, CtrlS is also planning expansion into Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The Kolkata facility is expected to play a pivotal role in boosting cloud adoption, digital transformation, and economic growth across the eastern region.
