Deal Sealed: Maharashtra Buys Air India Building for ₹1,601 Crore!

The Maharashtra government has officially taken ownership of the iconic Air India Building at Nariman Point, Mumbai, for ₹1,601 crore, marking the acquisition of one of the city's most recognizable commercial landmarks.

The transfer was finalized on Tuesday through an agreement between Air India Assets Holding Ltd. and the state's Public Works Department. The signing took place at Mantralaya in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis following a state cabinet meeting.

Situated at Nariman Point, the 23-storey sea-facing tower was built in 1974 on reclaimed land owned by the Maharashtra government. For nearly five decades, the building has been a defining feature of Mumbai’s skyline and remains one of the city's most prominent architectural landmarks.
