The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has finalized a contractor for the construction of Delhi’s first international-standard ice skating rink in Dwarka.
Covering 4,200 sq. meters, the facility will include a 60m x 30m rink, designed to meet global specifications. The project will be executed on a 15-year license fee model, with the selected agency responsible for both construction and operations, in collaboration with international partners through a joint venture or special purpose vehicle (JV/SPV).
Strategically located within the Dwarka Sports Complex cloverleaf, near Urban Extension Road, Dwarka Expressway, and the IGI Airport tunnel, the rink is set to become a major addition to Delhi’s sports and recreational infrastructure.
Initiated under the guidance of Lt Governor VK Saxena, the project addresses the capital’s lack of ice sports facilities and will provide a climate-controlled, year-round indoor venue for ice skating and related activities.
This development follows DDA’s recent announcement to launch public hot air balloon rides from four locations across Delhi, further diversifying the city's recreational offerings.
