Delhi's INR 15,000-Crore Plan to Boost Yamuna's Flow by 1,300 Cusecs

The Delhi government is developing a INR 15,000-crore initiative to boost the Yamuna River's environmental flow by 1,300 cusecs. Managed across six key projects, the plan involves routing water from the Tehri Dam through the Hindon River via a pipeline, curbing canal transmission losses, and rehabilitating the Delhi sub-branch canal system in coordination with Haryana. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) is currently underway by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), with funding proposed via the Urban Challenge Fund, HUDCO, and NABARD.
