Digital Bharat Nidhi: ₹2,432 Cr Boost for Andhra’s Rural Fiber

Digital Bharat Nidhi has entered into an agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to implement the amended BharatNet programme in the state, supported by ₹2,432 crore in central funding, according to an official statement issued recently.

The agreement was signed among Digital Bharat Nidhi, the Andhra Pradesh government, Andhra Pradesh BharatNet Infrastructure Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited to accelerate broadband connectivity across rural areas of the state.

The Government of India has approved ₹2,432 crore for the project, which is expected to facilitate more than five lakh rural home fibre connections across Andhra Pradesh, the statement added.
